The story I read is an extract from I, Robot, a collection of stories about robots. The text tells about Cutie, a robot, created by Mike Donovan and Gregory Powell, scientists on a space station. Their job consists to train Cutie, a new robot, the QT1, to work for the Beam Machine: this machine directs solar energy to the planet. 

But Cutie doesn’t want to collaborate, she is so intelligent and so different to human. She talks about the sense of her existence and she doesn’t believe Donovan and Powell had created herself: in her opinion they are totally strange to her! Their body is soft, lacking endurance and strength, they need sleeping and food, they cannot adapt to variations in the environment, their life Spain is temporary and makeshift. Instead Cutie has got a body made by strong metal, she needs electric energy, she can survivor in every tipe of temperature, her life spam is self evident, continuously and conscious. Cutie uses to describe the needs of human with this expression: they need sandwich, organic material (food) and they have a coma (sleep).
