In the points below I am going to highlight the common features that I identified across my schoolmate’ s mails:

• All mails present an informal language and the aim of them is to inform the class about her experience;
• I noticed that three of the four mails are about festivities and special events: Halloween, Thanksgiving and Spirit week;
• I found out that she used the same structure: same greeting line and closing line;
• Reading her mails you can tell that she is enjoying her experience and that she is close to her host family;
