Children’s personality changes gradually. In the first years of their lives their family has a considerable influence on children’s character. Children are very dependent of their parents, and they accept their parents’ decisions. Children’s family teaches them some rules that they need and have to follow. When children go to school they meet new people like peers and teachers and this is a positive thing because the have not only parents’ influence.
At first children are more influenced by teachers because they are in an enviroment where they do not know anything about their class mates.
In a second stage, when children became teenagers teacher’s influence is less than that of their peers. Teenagers want to be part of a group. They want to be accepted by their class mates because they do not decided with whom to stay in class. Be part of a group could be a positive thing because teenagers can be sociable, can feel powerful and they try to know who they are and what they want to become, but it could be a negative thing because peers’ influence can be bad and in some cases may lead to an aggressive behaviour.
Moreover teenagers like all other people do not have only one identity, in fact the identity they have at school is not the same they have at home or with their friends.
All in all teenagers’ behaviour changes according to the contest and to the people they find around them.
