I Look Into My Glass

Just considering te title the inteligent reader is interested to know why the character looks into his glass and what he sees.

Looking at the layout the reader understand it is a poetry text and a lyrical poem thank to word like "I" and "me" in the title and in the text.

Consider punctuation you can find out the text has 12 lines arrange into three quarcets that are stanzas consist of four lines.

Stanzas end with full stops so this creates a break between stanzas and it means that in the next stanza there hasn't the same topic or a similar discussion than previosly one.

The word "Time" is capitolize so you recognize it's an important word, probably the poem's theme.

In the first stanza the speaker looks at himself in his mirror (or ‘glass’) and sees his wrinkled and ageing skin, and wishes that his heart was similarly weakened and reduced. The heart that beats in his aged chest is that of a young man still ableto feel love.

If the heart that beats in the speaker’s chest had shrunk as thin as the skin that covers his ageing body, he wouldn’t care about the people in his life who no longer care for him. But sadly, he concludes, this is nature’s way: time and age has taken away his youthful looks but leaves him the (useless) desire. There is an air of anxious irritation in the alliterative ‘fragile frame’ in that final stanza, which suggests one whose body has grown cold with age.

The onomatopoeic figure "throbbings" made you able to heard the sound of the see and identify yourself in the context. Considering the assonance of 'my and I' you understand is a text which is focus on the protagonist feelings.
