HAMLET’S SOLILOQUY

Hamlet’s soliloquy is part of Shakespeare’s tragedy “Hamlet”.

It insists on the question “to be or not to be”. That have multiple meanings like life-dead, to do-not to do , to think-not to think. Furthermore, “to be or not to be” is a contrast.

There is no doubt that “to be or not to be” discussion’s relevance is provided by the Hamlet’s reflection about different life’s aspects. Firstly it debates about suicides. “To be or not to be” is a retorical question that Hamlet poses. The question is why the people, knowning the suffering of life, don’t commit the suicide. Hamlet answers this question by arguing that people are afraid of what comes after the death, because they don’t know it and thinking blocks the action. So, people prefer to face the problems of life, because the after death is an unknown country from which no one has returned.
