Fire and IceI expect the poem to be about opposite points of view. The text is arranged into only a stanza, without a regular pattern. Reading the poem, I understand that “fire and ice” can destroy the world. The fire is the passion, the violence and the wars that threaten to end the world. The ice is the hate that divides people and the symbol of solitude and desolation. Lots of times you can see words that include the words “fire” or “ice”, like “desire” and “suffice”. The “world end” in the poem is the destruction caused by bombs, global heating and discrimination between people. The poet has might experienced the fire of passion and the hate. |
