First of all considering the title, “Pamela”, this extract is going to tell something about a lady. The structure is the letter form and the text is divided into 17 sequences.

This part of the “Pamela” tells about her in the clutches of an evil man, that is keeping her locked up. The text is written in first person, so we see through Pamela’s eyes and all her feelings are descripted in detail. So by reading this text we imagine ourselves in her slippers and even we feel sad and desperate ourselves, you feel bad, stressed by reading her suffering and what she thinks about doing. From this confessions you can also understand the protagonist’s characterization, indeed she seems like a really fragile, but in reality she is strong, because she tries a way of getting away from this man, but the comfort keeps her from doing this.
