Regarding the title, it creates expectation in the reader, it invites curiosity about the identity of "she", the reason she lives "among Untrodden Ways" and what the "Untrodden Ways" are like. As to the layout, the poem is arranged into three quatrains , where the lines are of different lenght. The first stanza introduces the identity of the lady and describes the place where she lives: beside the springs of Dove, where only few people can be found. The second stanza expresses the beauty of the lady. It underlines how her beauty isn't immediately visible, because of its rareness. The poet compares the lady as "a violet by a mossy stone" and s "a star, when only one is shining in the sky", in order to show why her beauty is unique. The last stanza explains how much the lady is important to the poet. We can notice the lady's name, Lucy, that in the first stanza isn't quoted. Furthermore in the last lines is pointed out how only few people perceive the death of the lady, who now rests in a grave. As to the connotation , the poem's rhyme scheme is ABAB, an alternate rhyme. The rhythm is influenced by enjambements, but the poet uses also allitterations ("half hidden","only one") to give musicality to the poem. Regarding the semantic choices, the poet uses words related to the semantic field of nature ("violet","star","sky") to underline the genuine and precious beauty of the lady. As to the level of formality, the register adopted by the poet is formal.
