Compared to 30 years ago, the average number of members is about three people and, as far as children are concerned, as many as four out of ten families have none and 26% have only one. Singles have increased significantly (+ 110%), marriages have collapsed by -40.5% in favor of cohabitation and divorces have increased (+230%). Over seven out of ten families (71%) feel happier and serene compared to 30 years ago, thanks above all to greater economic stability. Families that are not only happy but who live relationships, both family and social, in a simpler way than in the past. Families together enjoy chatting (58%), watching movies and TV series from the comfort of their homes (56%) or going out for dinner (55%). As for the time dedicated to oneself (in addition to work and family), on average they dedicate about two hours a week, but if 50% of this time is enough, 48% would like more. Compared to the family of origin, even if you no longer live with them, the bond remains very alive with a mutual exchange of attention and care on both sides. In particular, 25% of the elderly give concrete help to the new family, while 45% receive assistance from their younger loved ones. In the workplace, women are slowly gaining ground compared to their spouses in the roles of entrepreneurs and managers, but the road to equality is still long. Despite this, only 34% of women are housewives. Generally speaking, compared to their partner, 59% of women report working less in terms of hours and 65% report having a lower income.
