The Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union [5D]
Students are invited to enter study documents about the European Charter of Fundamental Rights starting from considerations of its Preamble. >br> They are later supposed to analyse the structure oof the Document and explain what the different sections refer to to end with considerations about the importance of the Chart for an Enlarged Union.

The Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union was proclaimed in Nice. It sets out the civil, political, economic and social rights of European citizens under six headings: dignity, freedom, equality, solidarity, citizens’ rights and justice. These rights are based on the fundamental rights and freedoms recognised by the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and on the constitutional traditions of the countries of the European Union.
