Once upon a time, in Scotland, there was a noble knight named Macbeth. He was strong and loyal to the King.
The noble knight was coming home from a battle with his trusted friend Banquo.
Banquo was Thane of Lochaber, a general in the King's army.
He was brave and ambitious, tempered by intelligence.
The two people were walking in a forest, when suddenly they met three witches.
The three witches made them a prophecy: "Macbeth would soon become King of Cawdor and finally he would became king of Scotland." The witches also forecast to Banquo that his son would be king, too.
The noble knight Macbeth decided to inform his wife about the prophecy.
Lady Macbeth was a stone-heart woman, determinated and with no scruples.
As long as her husband obtained the throne of Scotland, she was minded to kill the King, Duncan.
Thanks to the influence on her husband, Lady Macbeth succeeded to push him to kill the King and accused the princes Malcolm and Donalbain of the murder.
But Malcolm escaped in England.
However, Banquo succeeded to discover the misdeed. Lady Macbeth saw that him and his son would be murdered, too.
Banquo's ghost persecuted the noble knight Macbeth for a long time.
Some times before, Macbeth met again the three witches. The second prophecy was: "Macbeth would be killed only when he would see the forest of Birnam marching toward him and his murderer wuold be not born by a woman."
When Lady Macbeth died, the noble knight decided to move war to obtain the throne of Scotland. He fought against Macduff, who revealed him to be not woman-borned. Saying that, Macduff cut his head and, like this, the noble knight Macbeth was dead.
So, the prince Malcolm could return in his Reign and become the new King of Scotland.

While the nobles were arriving they passed Birnam Wood and cut the trees to make shields.
As soon as Macbeth saw what was happening, he knew he was going to die, but he fought anyhow and was killed in battle.

Once upon a time there was an army chief in Scotland and his name was Macbeth. While he was coming back from a battle with his friend Banquo three witches announced him that he would become thane of Cawdor and even king. He really become lord, and thought with his wife to kill the king, Duncan.
The murder took place when Duncan visit Macbeth’s castle, and there were accused two servants. King’s son, called Malcolm escaped to England, and Macbeth proclaimed king.
Macbeth was still not satisfied because he hadn’t any son and was worried about Banquo, therefore he ordered to kill his friend. In this way he didn’t find peace, but he was obsessed by the ghost of Banquo. Macbeth came back to the witches that announced him other predictions: only Macduff would be able to catch the kingdom. Macbeth made Macduff’s wife and son murdered.
In the same time Lady Macbeth died, and Macduff decided to invade Scotland.
In the final battle Macduff realized the prediction and when met Macbeth killed him.
At the end Malcolm became king.

Once upon a time in Scotland there were two generals of the King Duncan: Macbeth and Banquo. One day, Macbeth and Banquo stayed at a forest and met three witches.
They told to the generals that Macbeth would become count of Cawdor and later the King of Scotland while Banquo would be father of kings.
So Macbeth wrote a letter to his wife, Lady Macbeth, about the witches' prophecies.
Lady Macbeth wanted to murder the King Duncan and secure the throne for her husband. In the night at the castle Macbeth killed the king and the following day the sons escaped because they were retained murderers of their father.
Macbeth thought that Banquo would confess all the true and therefore he decided to kill him and his son.
After that Macbeth met again the three witches. They told him to pay attention to Macduff,a thane of Scotland.
So Macbeth killed all Macduff's family.
Macbeth thought to be invulnerable but, how the witches had predicted, Macduff defeated him and so Malcolm, son of the King Duncan, became the king.

I agree that Macbeth isn't a hero: he is just described like a hero.
First of all, I think heroic means virile: he has been pulled to do the omicides by his woman; this is not very virile!
In addition to this, he hasn't also a good psicological strenght.
He need a lot of approvation, too: he always ask for witches' opinion.
So, I hadn't been surprised that he died in the end.

After this, King Duncan and other nobles were hosted at Macbeth’s castle. Macbeth’s wife convinced him to anticipate the fate killing Duncan. Macbeth kills the King and everybody blamed two of the King’s soldiers.
The sons of the King escaped and were blamed for the murder. Macbeth thought that Banquo could confess the true responsible and killed him.
Macbeth went back at the three witches’ and they told him he can’t be killed by a woman-son but he has to worry about Macduff. Macbeth killed Macduff’s family. After a battle Macbeth is killed by Macduff, because he had been kidnapped from his mother when he was a child. Macduff brings Macbeth’s head to the new King of Scotland: he is Malcolm, King Duncan’s son.

Macbeth is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare (1606, England). It is so known because it gathers themes, like “the corrupting nature of unchecked ambition”, “ the relationship between cruelty and masculinity”, “ the difference between kingship and tyranny”.
More over a modern reader can find an other topic: “wickedness over family relationship”. I think the reading would be interesting because the play is organized in a complex structure of themes; symbols (blood and the weather) that are used to represent abstract ideas or concepts; motifs (hallucinations, violence and prophecy) that can help the reader to understand themes.
And last but not least all that is connected to historical elements and characters (King Macbeth of Scotland).

Macbeth is not a hero but in the first part of the story the reader is deceived because Macbeth is described as a hero when he turn back to the war against the rebel Macdonwald.
Macbeth truly is obsessed by the power,he is ready to kill everyone on his way.
Shakespeare,I think, wants to give a message to the reader:there is not gain without pain in fact Macbeth and his Lady are consumed by the feeling guilty: he can't sleep and she tries to wash the blood on her hands over and over again.
In the end they will die as they were punished by God for their cruel actions.

Even though Macbeth is initially portrayed as a valiant hero (as a matter of fact he fights courageously against Duncan's enemies), his ambition and his influential wife make him behave as an evil, unscrupolous man.
He can, however, be seen as a tragic hero because he follows his destiny to its tragic end, knowingly and fearlessly.

Macbeth is an hero because he did something that normal people never do.
He is tragic hero because he did the worst he could, betraying his original loyalty and bravery.
He remains an hero because was submitted to the will of events.

Macbeth isn’t a great king or a great personality, however he is showed such as an hero in the battlefield.
No matter he is devote, meek, good, fair and lenient and he is admire for his action.
He is a hero also because he knows what he wants and he is successful in his objective.

The courageous, the power in battles, his generosity makes him a hero. But I don’t think he is truly a hero, because he shows a lot of defects. For example he kills a lot of person, and this is not a typical characteristic of a hero.

I think Macbeth is a real hero because he fights in battles for his king, and because of his militar strength he is nominated count and, after that, king. In addition to this, he is very loyal, brave andgenerous, as an hero should be, so I think he can be considered an hero.

Macbeth can be considered a hero because he is a brave warrior but he is also a traitor: he kills Duncan and his friend Banquo to become king. In the end his regrets torture him and death is almost a liberation. The William Rimmer's painting is woorying and it communicates the idea of fear.

You can consider Macbeth a hero because, after becoming the king of Scotland, he was a strong warrior.
He was also brave, generous and his most important quality was the loyalty to his king.

"Macbeth" is a very beatiful drama and it is written in a very fluent way.
In this way the writer can imagine the setting of the story and the caratheristics of the characters.
The William Rimmer's painting rappresents three witches in their moment of a conjuring. It makes me feel very scared but that light in the sky is a sort of hope.

"Macbeth" is a quite drama of the both shakesperian and elizabethan view and it probabily owes its success to its protagonist's complex and tortuose nature and he has himself in the same one time unsure, timorous and then ferociously rent by the remorses
