MCozzolino - Why Do I Think Reaching Peace Is Difficult
[author: Mirta Cozzolino - postdate: 2006-12-13]
The dove is a bird which can move and peace and the dove have the with colour in common and white is the symbol of purity and innocence.
Peace is a condition that is never guaranteed and this is the reason why peace is represented with the symbol of the dove.
In class we read a poem which was written by the black American poet Langstom Hughes;during his life he suffered for racial segregation.
The ispiration for the poem we read came to him when he was looking at a painting by Pablo Picasso. The paint shows a child holding a dove and stands beside a multi-coloured ball.
We can think that this ball represents the symbol of peace as does the rainbow.
Reading the poem we can understand that the poet had a difficult life because he says that the dreams are as fragile as pottery.
I think that to realize a dream, people need an objective, otherwise in the world peace will never arrive and there will be always wars because people don’t feel well.
