EXERCISE N. 1 PAG. 61

The text tells about a Prioress. She had an important role in the society. The Prioress was known as Madame Eglantine. She spoke French.

You can know something about her physical appearance: her nose was well-shaped, she had blue-grey eyes, her mouth was tender, very small and red, she had a fine forehead and she was not undersized.

She wore an elegant cloak and a coral rosary with gauds of green.

The Prioress had good manners: her greatest pleasure was in etiquette so she had learnt good table manners. She was also very sensitive and kind.

The Prioress studied French and lived at the convent Stratford-at-Bow.
