a) The poem is addressed to death

b) The poet says to death not to be proud , I think that it's an unusual statement because death is never connoted as proud.

c) I think the last statement is an absurd: first of all death is not a person, she's only personified and this means that she can't die; only the concept, the suffering which death carries can die.

I think some themes cannot be accepted unconditionally for exemple that the best of human kind desires death or death is a pleasurable experience.

The rhyme-scheme is ABBA, it follows the structure of English sonnet.

Breaks of syntax do not always coincide with the end of the verse.

Answere the following questions:

1) The poet is speaking to his lover, his woman and he looks her in the eyes.

2) Poet's lover is crying because he's leaving  and she's going to be alone.

3) The word which rhymes with "skill" is "kill"; this word justifies the use of word "wicked" because his woman is able to kill with her art.

4) The poet wants to make his picture vanished because he fears the image which has got his woman of him, he doesn't like it because this picture makes her cry.

5) The picture is not tangible, is just the image that the woman has got of her lover which lies in woman's mind.

6) People won't die because death is not able to kill truly.

7) Best men will go with death.

8) Death is not able to kill because she only gives rest for body and also because Christians believe in eternal life after death as a matter of fact death is only a passage.
