1649 → Charles I was executed.


1650 → Cromwell established a dictatorship:the  Commonwealth.


1658 → Cromwell died and he had not a successor.


1660 → The Restoration. Charles II came back to England and became the new King and the monarchy was established again.

 


1688 → James II was removed from the throne in the Glorious Revolution, a war without blood. William of Orange married Mary, James’ daughters, therefore wars between Parliament and monarchy finished.

 


1707 → Parliament’s power was increased and an act of Union was made between the English and the Scottish.

 


1714 → A new dynasty ascended the English throne, the Hannover because Anna Stuart, the last Stuart sovereign died. The new king was George I that represented interests of the middle class.

 


1764 – 1775 → There were inventions in the textile and transport sectors. There was a change in the productive and commercial field. Open fields began privates: the family economy became industrial economy. There was an agrarian and industrial Revolution.

 


1776 → The American Declaration of Independence was signed. America is independent from Great Britain.

 


1789 → The French Revolution.
