DIFFERENCES BETWEEN INTENTION AND AIM

Intention:

  • Ø That which one proposes or plans to do
  • Ø A thing intented
  • Ø An aim or a plan

Examples:

  • It was not my intention to upset you
  • I came with the/every intention of staying, but circumstances have changed
  • Their intention is to make the area a public park
  • I have no intention of comincg here again!
  • She is full of good intentions, but unfortunately they rarely work out.

 

 

Aim:

  • Ø A purpouse
  • Ø An intention
  • Ø The action of pointing or directing a weapon, missile at a target

Examples:

  • The aim is to increase sales in Europe
  • He has only one aim in life: to become rich
  • She went to London with the aim of  finding a job
  • She failed to achieve her aim
  • What era the aims and objectives of the society?
  • My aim was accurate
  • Take careful aim (at the target) before firing.
