STORYLINE

 

Tom Jones:

Tom and his servant Patridge, are travelling from Somerset to London, one day at night they saw a mysterious light, Jones wanted to know what it was while Patridge was afraid of it; at the end they discover men and a women who were having fun.

Pamela:

 Pamela is 15 years old, she is a servant, she is nice looking and virtous. She works at Lady B's home, and when she dies she starts working for lady B's son. The gentleman is attracted for this young girl, he tries lot of times to seduce her, but she always refuses. So, Mr B tries to persuade her imprisoning Pamela for 40 days and attempting to rape her for two times. Pamela, desperate, thinks also to suicide but she realizes that in spite Mr B's  bad behaviour there is something goodly on him. The man realizes that his brutality will not be repaid and starts courting her being kind and tender, ending to fall in love with him. For two times Mr B proposes marriage to Pamela before she were really convinced.

Robinson Crusoe:

Once arrived in a island Robinson meets an aborigen (Friday) and tries to civilizes him; in addition he tries to riproduce English society in the island.

 

CHARACTERS

Tom Jones:

Jones is the protagonist and the hero of the novel, the uses his mind to solve the situations and the problems.

Partidge si the servant,he  is the opposite of Jones and he is always afraid of everything.

 

Pamela:

Pamela is the main protagonist of the novel, she is a servant which follows all the values of his puritan society: she is virtuous and honest.

Mr B is Pamela ‘s master, he is falled in love with her and he always tries to seduce her.

Robinson Crusoe:

Robinson is the protagonist ,the stereotype of the self-made man, he is like an hero, he is brave corageous, he is able to use his intelligence to solve problems;

Friday represents another culture, an inferior culture than the English one.

NARRATOR

Tom Jones:

The omniscient narrator, he knows everything

Pamela:

The narrator is the same person that writes the letters: Pamela, the reader could n't have a personal opinion of the facts.

 

Robinson Crusoe:

The narrator coincides with the protagonist: Robinson.
