Textuality » 3A Interacting
1) "Scaffolding": the title makes me remember something that somebody should do to get to something after work.
The title seems to hint at something that is at the grounding of a big thing. You always need a scaffolding to get to something... Without scaffoldings, you can't go anywhere in your life!!
Scaffolding recalls a progressive aspect so I think of something dynamic that changes, that isn't stable.
To tell the truth Scaffolding refers to a sistem of scaffolds.
Other possible meanings:
╚instrumentality; instrumentation
╚scaffolding, staging
You can make some conjectures about the possible CONTENT of the text. My hypothesis are:
- in our live, we should create a lot of scaffoldings. For example: when you meet a person, it takes you a lot of time and lots of stages to become friends.
- Scaffoldings might mean relationships with friends and people
- It is a boring thing that you must do to get to something: for example you must study hard to gain knowledge.
2) "Digging": the title seems to hint at a mysterious thing that a person could find analysing something.
Digging recalls a progressive aspect so I think of something dynamic that changes, that isn't stable.
To tell the truth digging refers to the act of excavating.
Additional meanings:
act; human action; human activity
╚excavation, digging, dig
My hypothesis about digging are:
- something that you don't know
- something that you find to get information or data
- I think it might be the search for something
3) " Se questo è un uomo" : the title is a condition, it isn't a finished sentence.
So I can imagine something that will happen if the condition occurs.
We can imagine a lot of things, because the sentence isn't finished, so we can finish it with our mind.
The poet was likely to analyse a man in society or what society might be like if a man was in this state.
I think that the second part of the sentence depends on man's characteristics.
