LINGUISTIC FUNCTIONS
Sandra: You were right, Peter.
Peter: Did you speak to Carol?
Sandra: Yes, I did. And it was a big mistake. I should have listened to you
Peter: Why? What happened?
Sandra: I told her I had seen Terry at the disco with Sharon . But she just got angry with me.
She accused me of exaggerating the whole thing. And she said I was just jealous because I didn't have a boy friend . What a cheek!
Peter: I told you not to get involved.
Sandra: I know. I shouldn't have said anything.
Peter: Wasn't she annoyed with Terry?
Sandra: No. She said she was sure he could explain everything.
Peter: Oh well, never mind. You were only trying to help. She'll soon forget about it.
Sandra: Yes, I suppose so. The trouble with Carol is that she doesn't know who real friends are.
ARGUMENTATIONS
Sandra's argumentations were that:
if she didn't tell Carol about the situation, Carol wouldn't get angry with Sandra.
In my opinion there aren't Peter's argumentations .
REACTIONS
Carol's reactions were that:
She accused Sandra of exaggerating the whole thing and she added that Sandra had just been jealous because she hadn't got a boyfriend yet.
CONSEQUENCES
The consequences were that Carol got angry with her because she thought that Sandra was lying, so Peter was trying to console her.
