Augustus, Lepidus and Antony formed the Roman triumvirate the ruled the Western world, but in a second moment Lepidus left the alliance. Antony, in spite he was married with Fulvia, he lived with his mistress Cleopatra, the queen of Egypt, in Alexandria. Augustus, angry for Antony's lifestyle in Alexandria called Antony home to Rome. After Fulvia's death Antony returned to Rome, and with Augustus they tried to make amends: Antony married Octavia, the Augustus' sister.
But Antony didn't love Octavia, so he returned to live in Egypt with his mistress . Augustus decided to attack and to regain the control of Egypt and he fought Antony. Antony defeated, wanted to die so he killed himself with a sword.
Cleopatra destroyed by pain for Antony's death killed herself by a snake's bite.
