Act 1, scene 1

Philo, an Antony's friend, does not consider Cleopatra positively ; he thinks that she is a temptress and she has bewitched Antony, because he is weaker  when he is with Cleopatra.

Instead when they arrive, Cleopatra plays dumb that Antony loves her and this intrigues Antony.

When the messengers, sent by Octavius, arrives, Cleopatra expects  Antony to listen tothem, beacuse he does not stay with her, but he has to go to Rome.

She does this, beacuse she wants to see how much Antony loves her, even if she already knows that Antony would leave everything for Cleopatra. Instead Antony does notlisten to  the messenger and he leaves the room with Cleopatra.

So Cleopatra can be tought as temptress, intriguing and convincing.
