Textuality » 3A Interacting
Dear Antoinette,
I have read your poem and now I know about your problems with your daughter. I think the problem is very serious because your daughter does not want to come back home. Probably something wrong and very serious has happened between you and your daughter that she does not want to accept.
As a reaction she has gone away from home. She is probably very angry and she doesn't want to remember what you did for her. I also think that there is a difference between a mum and a friend: you should not be your daughter's best friend. You are her mother. I think that a mother should help her daughter but just when her daughter needs it.
I think this is basically a good relationship between a mother and a son or a daughter. Parents should also have authority in the family. For example they should also listen to their sons or daughters and help them in important decisions.
First of all you should talk to your daughter and try to understand her and her points of view. She will probably not come back home but you can have a good relationship with her all the same. In this case, if she needs some help, she will ask you in the future. I hope this will happen.
Write soon,
Michele
