Postmodernism is an aesthetic, literary, political or social philosophy, which was the basis of the attempt to describe a condition, or a state of being, or something concerned with changes to institutions and conditions as postmodernist.

I agree with my teacher: Thinks... is a Postmodern novel. It is also a metanovel because it speaks about the way you write; as a matter of fact David Lodge tackles literal problems (life, death,...)

In my opinion David Lodge wants to deconstruct the binary idea of science and literature;  as a matter of fact there are two characters that symbolize science and literature: Helen Reed symbolizes literature: she teaches creative-writing, and Ralph Messenger symbolizes science since he deals with cognitive science.

In the end Thinks... is a Postmodern novel because David Lodge deals with the literature and its problems.
