Considering the title, I think the poem will be about the feelings or the problems there are during the adolescence.

I think the speaking voice may probably be a teenager's; an other possibility might be an adult's point of view.

In the first part of the poem there are some questions and typical sentences the parents tell sons and daughters.

After that there is a teenager's waking up that, in my opinion, is in common between many teenagers.

At the end, there is a nice reflection about the growing up.

In the first stanza there are three question and two sentences to the speaking voice.

The parent asks him/her if he/she have done the homework, have tidied the room and have washed the pots.

She/he also orders him/her to put the music down and that he/she is grounded.

After that there is a speaking voice's question, he/she asks the reader if he recognise himself in those phrases.

The function of this stanza is to introduce to the reader the situation.

With the last question the poet/poetess wants to involve the reader in this poem, telling about common facts in a teenager's life.

Then the poet describes a typical waking up: the alarm clock rings and your mother shouts to get up, you bury the head under the pillow and you think that it's only 8.15.

The poet underlines how parents insist the adolescence gets up quickly because he or she might be late for school but the young chap believes there is still so much time because he or she has to be at school for twenty to nine.

To tell the truth when you are an adolescence you don't really have a sense of time. You get up with terrible hair as if you had been in a fight.

In addition you always have zits and when you look at your face in the mirror you hate it and, of course, you are terribly late. You have no PE kit ready and nothing seems to work.

But that's life, part of growing up, that's why you need a lot of luck.
