Is Thinks... a Postmodern Novel?

In my opinion Thinks is a post-modern novel for many reasons that I try to explain in this short essay.

First of all we can say that Thinks is also a metanovel because it speaks about the way you write, as a matter of fact David Lodge talk to us in order to deals with the literature and its problems.

More over Thinks is a post- modern novel because unlike postcolonialism it doesn't talk about power but about sciences.

In Thinks there is a distinction between fiction and reality is not much visible, for this reason we aren't able to destingue where fanstasy or reality begins.

More over in Thinks we have many point of views and for this reason David Lodge uses different genres like journal, recording thoughts, stream of consciousness, series of tales and e-mails to explain as a concept or an idea.

We can also notice that Thinks is usually in a first person narrator and sometimes in a third person non-omniscient narrator.

Finally another thing that explain us why Thinks is a post modern novel is the use of parody.
