What is the period in which the Renaissance developed in England?

 

The English Renaissance refers the period of the accession of the House of Tudor to the throne in 1485, when was made a revival of the study of the classics  that influenced English literature, culture and society.

 

What does the term Renaissance mean?

 

The term Renaissance means new birth from the human being, that was the most important aspect of the Renaissance. As of Renaissance the human's dignity and real value were placed in the centre of  the universe.

 

 

Why did the English Renaissance develop later than in Italy?

 

The Renaissance was born in Italy and during it there was the Protestant reform that forbidden the development of the Renaissance in England. The Renaissance entered in England later.

 

What is the idea of the woman and the man in Renaissance  literature?

 

A Renaissance Woman was supposed to marry well, be loyal to her husband and give birth to boys. A Renaissance Man had to be well-educated, have cultural grace, be a gentleman and understand the arts and sciences.

What is the different idea of the woman in the ballad and the sonnet?

 

The woman in the ballad was always considered like someone dangerous to keep away that poisoned and tented men. The sonnets' adressees were unattainable ladies. Women in the sonnets were accounted as angelic beings, ‘clean', nice and kind.

The ballad and the sonnet are both connected with music but they have an important difference: ballads were a popular form of poetry and the sonnets were an aristocratic form of poetry.

The Ballad's  language is direct and straightforward and makes considerable use of repetition especially in the refrain. It had to be easy to rember (ballads were handed down orall). In the sonnet the language is rafined, ornate,and were used polysyllabic Latinate words, considered suitable for poetic effects.
