Obama speaks in an apparently informal linguistic register: he uses words like "fellow" or "humbled". This because he wants remain at the same level of the ordinary people. But the register he uses is supported by a strict argumentative textual.

The function of the fifth section, called "Restoring Trust", is to express the Obama's hope to restore the vital trust between a people and their government. he says that people who don't trust in his system do not remember the history of the nation, they don' remember what has people done for this state. The trust between the people and his government is very important in order to make the nation go on.

The sixth part is called "Ready to lead". The function of this part is to explain the position that America wants to have towards the other States. For example he refers to Iraq and Afghanistan. He adds that America is a friend of each nation and that they will defeat all the threats.

In the seventh section, "Era Of Peace", Obama express his will to live in a word of peace where people all are equal. He addresses this message of peace to all the people all over the world because America is a place where people from all different parts of the word live, so he is referring to Christians and Muslims, to Jews and Hindus. He says that "Americans are ready to extend them a hand if their willing to unclench a first" he was referring to Muslims he also says that they are in a wrong side and they better change.

The title of the eight part is "Duties". The function of this part is to explain the importance of the responsibility. He reminds the values upon which American people's success depends: honesty, hard work, courage, tolerance,...

In the last section, "Gift of Freedom", the President wants to mark, once again, the common unit of the United States Of America.The president remember the history of the nation and he says that he will carry on facing all the challenges and it must be that way also for the next generations. He greets people blessing them.
