The english Renaissence usually referse to the 16th and early 17th century, exactly in 1485 with the accession of the House of Tudor.<br>

The term Renaissance means a new born when a revival study of the classics culture and society.<br>

<br>

Becuse England was an island and the new influence that arrive by Europe develop so late.<br>

<br>

In the Renaissance people have a new discover of the human been, spiritual and fisical.<br>

In the sonnet there is the exaltation of the woman, the auctor love all of this woman. Infact the standart theme of English sonnet was the courtly love:

the poet is in love with a lady he can't have. In the ballad there isn' t the exaltation of the woman but it tells about some stories without going into details, characterization,ect. connected with music

and sing.<br>

The English sonnet is characterised by embodies four divisions: three quartans each one with a particulaty rhyme - scheme and a rhymed coupld:

abab bcbc cdcd ee. The coupled at the end is an apigrammatic clouse. The theme is the courtly love of the poet for a woman.

It belived to come from the medioeval songs.<br>

The English ballad is characterised: the folk ballads are one stanzas but litteraly ballads are composed of a lot of stanzas. The ballads there

passed orally from generation to generation as songs.<br>
