Though Anna insists that the king be merciful, Tuptin and Balat (Tuptin's boyfriend) are beheaded in front of the entire court and killed without pity.
Siam is under siege from what appears to be British-founded coup d'ètat against Rama, using Burmese soldiers. The king sends his brother Chaofa and his military advisor Alak to investigate. But, actually Alak is a traitor, so he kills Chaofa. Alak wants to invade Siam and to kill Rama to hide his children. Rama has to face Alak, and with a ‘trap' and the help of Anna and Luis (Anna's son) he defeats Alak but he doesn't kill him, Rama says that Alak should have to live with his shame. At the end of the film, Rama has one last dance with Anna, and realizes that it is conceivable for one man to be pleased by only one woman. Anna returns to England with her son.
