Exercise 2 page 57. Now read the extract from the poem. It describes:

  • Ø From line 1 to line 10 - Beowulf decision to help Hrothgar.
  • Ø From line 11 to line 16 - The preparations for the journey and the launch.
  • Ø From line 16 to line 30 - The actual crossing of the sea and the sighting of land.
  • Ø From line 31 to line 35 - The landing in Denmark

 

Exercise 3 page 57. Read the lines 3-16 and identify the traits that are most admire in Beowulf.

Exercise 4 page 57. Reconsider lines 24-30:

  • a) The lines describe the journey by sea.
