"Anna and the king" - The Film:
Who is the speaking voice in the film?
The speaking voice is king Mongkut' s first born.
Why did the director choose that narrative technique?
I think that the director wanted to give us the idea of a real story, described by one of its protagonists...it is like a remember, a story that comes to life again.
Consider the topics, what are the three most important of them?
I think that the most important topics are:
•· "Siamese traditions": I think we can't speak about a conflicts between cultures, because
king Mongkut like Anna, are convinced and determined in their traditions...there is the meeting of two very different cultures, but there isn't a clash.
•· "Betrayal": The king is forsaken by his general.
•· "Courage": There are a lot of kinds of courage in this film: Anna's courage to go to a new country where she doesn't know anybody and her courage to go against Siamese traditions; King's courage in war: he is ready to sacrifice his life for his children...king is also brave to do things that are very difficult to do...
As Anna as the king have the courage to go on after the death of dears.
In the end, there is Tuptim's courage...even if her action is very unconscious, she is brave because she accuses the lies against her.
Point of view about messages.
I'm agree with the messages: real leaderships aren't those people who think with rage, impulsiveness and wish of power...real leaderships are that people who think before do and value what are better things for others, not only for themselves!
THE CONSIDERATIONS:
1.
I'm agree with this consideration...Tuptim's execution is a very strongest sequence, infect, in this sequence, death is entwine with the eye contacts of love between Tuptim and her true love and the prayers of Anna and the king, in different places, but for the same things!
2.
I'm agree with this consideration: I think that every culture is different but it s not good to consider some cultures better or worse than others.
