The second stanza speeaks about the voyage that Beowulf and his crew starts. The warriors packed the ship with many weapons and supplies, and then set sail.

The poet conveys the speed and the will of Beowulf and his worriors to go and help the king who needed defenders. There is a relationship between the boat and the seamen because in this period cultere was based on the practice of war and therefore the boat was a "vehicle" to do it.

The frequent activites of Beowulf´s population was going on sea, therefore more of the popolation was warriors or seamen. The seamen was also warriors. They loaded all the equipment that might be useful to fight the monster.

The narrator uses some enjamblemants (run on line) to creat the idea of speed of the ship, so we have to read very quickly. The poet uses words like "war-gear" to underline the use of weapons. As for the sound level, there are only alliterations.

The narrator uses also a simile. He compares his ship with the birds fly. That makes us understand that the ship was speedy.

They arrived, after a not easey voyage, to the end of their voyage, they ancored the ship and their thanked God.

Another important aspect of Anglo-Saxon culture is religion as you can see at line 34 where the seamen thanked God.
