The italian philosopher and psychoanalyst Umberto Galimberti wrote an article about the american psychoanalyst James Hillman and published it in "la Repubblica" on October 28th.
The key ideas of his thought are archetype and soul: archetypes are the deepest modules of the way our psyche works while soul is something that can not be defined in concrete way.
James Hillman thought individual's uneasiness did not come from his childhood but it was rooted in the society in which he lived. In order to understand this concept it is necessary to go back to the archetypes.
Before the 60s poeple looked for someone able to ensure security and to show his authority derived from his position in society beacause they wanted to identify in a strong power.
From the 60s authority concept was brought into question: what makes someone authority was not his higer position but his importance for a social group. A new period began: the post modernism.
In post moderm society, however, there is not a soul anymore.
