Postmodernism is a cultural movement developed in Sixties. It comes out after Modernism and goes beyond it as well. Postmodernists question the idea of authority, of truth and of a centre, differently from Modernists: they still seemed to believe in the possibility to find a truth, something to believe in.  So Postmodernists do not believe in the existence of an absolute meaning, because it is never stable, always sleepy, still to come, different. Also Modernists react against the traditional single point of view and perspective. That is what has happened with Cubism in art. About Postmodernism it abolishes the difference between low and high art: Pop art was born. In conclusion both the cultural movements fight against the conventional point of view: Modernists do not know what truth to look for, but they suppose it exists; Postmodernists neither look for it, just because they do not believe in it.
