One of the most important universities in the United States of America is Harvard University; it was founded in 1636 and it has been transformed in recent years by new initiatives that have greatly enhanced the undergraduate experience. Today’s students come from all over the nation and the world to attend an extraordinary institution that combines many aspects of a small residential college with the resources of an unparalleled research university.

Now Harvard can give many possibility to students, for example a new program in General Education, a lot of freshman seminary, a great curriculum in the humanities, social and natural sciences, 3500 courses, 45 fields of side, greatly expanded study abroad opportunities, the world’s largest university library system and an unmatched access to university research centres, institutes, faculty and museums.

Harvard is based on a residential House system, offering a small college experience led by a senior faculty member and a staff of experienced resident advisers. Harvard can also give more than 400 extracurricular activities and 41 intercollegiate athletic teams.

Speaking about Harvard’s cost it is important to underline that a new sweeping financial aid initiative has the function to make Harvard affordable for all; loans are not required, home equity is not used in aid calculations, it is free for families with incomes under $ 60,000 and a cost of only 0-10 % of annual family income for those from $ 60,000 to $180,000, with normal financial assets. So more than 70 % of our students receive some form of financial aid.

Harvard students come from public, private, and parochial schools, from every state and many foreign countries, as well as from all socio-economic ethnic and racial backgrounds.
