Textuality » 4A Interacting
I watched a video about Dublin University on the net, and I want to draw my attention on program of learning of the English language. In my opinion this program is interesting and effective because it is generally proposed for foreign students who want to learn English with the help of the University and teachers. From the video I can notice that there are a lot of differences between Dublin University and Italian universities. For example, a teacher said that their major purpose is to teach the students something which will be useful for their life. In addition the teacher said that universities should give a particular education to students. From these affirmations I understand that teaching isn't based on theoretical concept, but on the possession of practical abilities. Another aspect that catch my attention are lessons. They aren't considered an activity of listening but during lessons there is an interaction between teachers and students. In the video the teacher said that students continuously make question and they want to discuss all the things that the teachers say (different from the main part of Italian students). I can notice that the university is provided with a lot of shops, gardens and bars, where a student meets others students, and where they pass a lot of their free time. During the video there are some testimonies of students. They talk about the university's life and the reason why they wanted to go to this university. Besides they think that the university isn't a place with the aim to learning only, but it is also a point of meeting with other people and a place of enjoyed.
