Up to  5 B - The Modern AgeUp to task document list

Clarissa through her memory presents a new character: Peter Walsh.

Peter Walsh is a man that Clarissa knows since she was eighteen. They was two friends, their relationship was very strong, maybe there was something more than one friendship. Their friendship became something stronger but in the past Clarissa has rejected his marriage proposal.

Clarissa chose to marry Richard Dalloway, an aristocratic man that could offer her a high level of live, with a lot of comforts (she can pay some servants to work in her house).

Clarissa still wonders if she has done well to don't marry Peter, because the relationship with him would have been different than Richard. Clarissa thinks that if she was with Peter now they would be still fighting for every little issue, but feels a deep bond that still unites him. Because some days, certain landscapes bring to mind him and finds herself wondering what Peter would say now if he was with her. Now he is marry with a woman that he met on a ship bound for India, but will be back in London one of these days.

Clarissa she is still in contact with him, infect they write letters.

Clarissa remembers Peter gently, and he will be bound to her forever.
