INTERPRETATION:
>> Conventional novels misses the idea of life we seek. Thiscan probably be life, spirit, truth or reality.
>> Virginia Woolf describes life as a luminous halo, a semi-transparent envelope surrounding us from the beginning of counsciousness to the end.
>> She may mean life like the one she has written about in her book Monday or Tuesday
>> The task of the novelist is to convey the varying of things while the time passes by, the unknown and uncircumscribed spirit, whatever abberration or complexity it may display, wth as little mixture of the alien and external as possible. Fiction should be written based on the novelist's own feeling and not upon convention.
>> The painting conveys Virginia Woolf's idea of life, it holds lot of colors to compose the sky and the sea, they are complex as the complexity of life, the lines are not defined, light defines the objects and the sun seems a halo and objects are drawn as the painter sees them not as the convention says.
