The most important thing I learnt this year is that English is an intercultural and changeable language. As a consequence, your attitude towards studying it has to be active: you shouldn't
be lazy and study as little as possible, but you should be curious and interested in changes. You will never say "Well, I perfectly know how English language works" : it is ever-changing and you is asked to keep up with it, always learning new words and idioms. It follows that studying a foreign language is an infinite challenge: you will never reach the goal, but you will become stronger and stronger on the road and this should make you happy and pleased. I learnt this analyzing literary texts. Textual analysis is an endless but very useful process: it does not exist only within literature at school, but you should apply it in everyday life, on whatever text you happen to read. Its aim is recognizing the message of a text, analyzing the way information has been given. Connotative analysis is particular interesting, while studying a foreign language: it helps you understand how the language  works, so
that you will better approach to it
