This morning, during our English lesson, we discuss about textual analysis.

First of all, the teacher explains to us the meaning of the key words of textual analysis that are text and analysis. Text refers to the message that the words transmit and analysis means understand the text focusing on lexicon, sentences construction, figures of speech, figures of sound.

The main aim of the analysis is to make it clear to the reader in which way the poet has created the meaning of the text, considering the information given (denotative analysis) and the way information has been given, considering the grammar, syntaxes and trying to understand the message (connotative analysis).

To write a good analysis, firstly you have to pay attention to the reader because you have to choose the communicative register and so the lexicon and then you have to write in a good English.

Finally, you have to read your analysis two or more times until you are happy with it and you think that it is clear and that explains well your ideas.
