THE MAIN FEATURES OF MODERNIST FICTION:
1. third person omniscient narrator. But He knows only what characters think or feel, nothing more.
2. Stream of consciousness and shift of point of view
3. Subjectivity
4. focus on thoughts, feelings, emotions.
5. Eclipse of the narrator
6. personal idea about Time. It is not synchronical Time, but "inner Time".
7. Free indirect style or free indirect thought.
8. Narration is based on "showing"
9. It reduces plot to lowest terms.
10. Reader is more active than when he reads traditional form of novel.
11. Novelist does not follow any conventions, or traditions.


THE MAIN FEATURES OF TRADITIONAL NOVEL:
1. Third person omniscient, intrusive narrator. He knows everything.
2. Every piece of information is filtred by the voice of the narrator.
3. Novels are arrenged in to chronological order.
4. Flash-back and flash-forward
5. Narration is based on "telling"
6. Plot or something like this.
7. Reader is supine against the narrator
8. Novelist have to follow traditions, conventions, and the editor's taste.
