"The Chief Features of Industrial Revolution" is an essey in which the historian Arnold Toynbee describes the
essence and consequences of the Industrial Revolution.
His thesis is that the I.R. it's both a period of great development and also a time of misery.He had divided the text in
paragraphs;in this way we can find easily the comparisons between each ambit in which the I.R. brought
changes.The first paragraph has an introductory function and it takes the reader into the theme.The second one is
probably the most important paragraph of the text because the author gives us the essence of the I.R and explains
ti by giving judgements and via qualitatives info.In the other paragraphs he explain via both quantitative and
qualitative informations the radical changes the revolution has brought.Starting with agrarian world,passing
through new farm buildings and mechanical discovers and finishing with the increase of commerce.In the last
paragraph he summarizes all the facts to give a conclusion according to his thesis.
The efficiency of the text is made by his structure and the quantity and quality of information the autor's gives us.
