A room of one's own
1. Five hundred pound and a room of one's own represents the independence both social and economical that women had not obtained yet in the late 19ieth Century.
2. Ms Virginia connected poetry to poverty; she knew that lots of great poets had been poor, but she also knows that women had to face with disadvantages and prejudices against them, they had few or no chances to write even they are not poor.
3. Women have rarely written poetry because they " have less intellectual freedom than the sons of Athenian slaves" and that's why they have no privacy and no independence.
4. Virginia Woolf predicts that if the women have the courage to write what they think and what they feel, sense, experience the opportunity will come. She also added that " Shakespeare's sister will put on the body..." to underline that if she had had the possibility, she, a women would certainly has been even better then her brother, one of the most famous and greatest English poets.
