Up to  3A - Summer Homework and Lead inUp to task document list
15 August 2011

At first I didn't know how to spend that day. I thought it was going to be a day like the others. An ordinary summer day in my house, with my family, doing some homework and playing a lot.

A few days before ferragosto, some of my old school friends invited me to eat a pizza and spend an evening with them. That evening they also invited me to a small party. It would be on the 15th August at home of a friend of mine. They also suggested me to invite someone else (they expected me to invite my boyfriend or my best friend). They said the party was going to be fantastic and I would enjoy myself a lot. But I thought that party would be too crowded and noisy. I wanted to decline the invite, but they didn't call me back to ask me if I wanted to come... And I didn't call them back, too.

That day I really didn't know what to do... But when I woke up that morning (late morning), I had a big surprise: my grandparents had come to us with an interesting idea. My mother informed me and my brother that they wanted to go and visit our uncle... and our new little cousin! She was born on the 12th August and they had just come home from the hospital. I was so excited! We had breakfast and got dressed quickly and then we reached our grandparents in the car. Our uncle lives in Monfalcone. We arrived and our uncle welcomed us warmly. It was a long time I hadn't seen him so happy. We entered the house and then we see them: the little Ginevra and her Mom. It was a long time I hadn't seen a baby... and she was so tiny and nice. She already had a long tuft of soft hair in the centre of her head. She had a little tiny nose and strange pointed ears. She looked very calm. My grandmother picked her up, but she seemed to be a bit upset. My uncle took a photo and then asked my grandfather to pick her up, too. Ginevra looked at him, made a face and turned to the other side. It was so funny! Then my father picked her up and she stood and looked at him intensely. She seemed to be in trance!

My uncle asked me if I wanted to pick her up too, but I thought she would have been stressed enough for that day, and I refused. So my brother and I spent the day listening to our relatives talking and playing with our other cousin, Alex. At the end we went back home and I was very happy. It was a nice day.
