1) What do five hundred pounds a year and a room of one's own represent?
• Five hundred pounds a year represent money which people need of to buy a room of their own and the room represents the intellectual freedom, thespace in which they can spend their time to contemplate, to write and to express themselves.
2) What does the author say about poetry and wealth?
• In Virginia Woolf's opinion, wealth is a necessary condition to have a room of their own and so to write poetry. Mrs. Woolf doesn't considers herself a materialist but she's realist. Money and wealth are relevant especially for women, who haven't power like men.
3) Why have women rarely written poetry?
• Women have rarely written poetry because have always had less power and less consideration than men and " they have had less intellectual freedom than the sons of Athenian slaves": the intellectual freedom would be the central prerequisite to write poetry and it is the freedom to write what they think and to think what they want.
4) What is Virginia Woolf's prediction about women and poetry?
• Virginia Woolf thinks to the next century and encourages all women to write exactly what they think without any fear: woman must have the courage ant the freedom like me
