Tradition and the Individual Talent was published in 1920 by T.S. Eliot. He was considered a new poet that adopted a new approach to poetry and a revolutionary process to do poetry.

The literary criticism is a form of writing that discusses of literature. An example of this kind of production can be Common reader by V. Woolf. In this essay Eliot describes the most important problems of literature. He talks about the impersonality of art, taking up one of the most important concept of Modernism. The snow in The dead is the symbol of hope and peace. The topic of discussion is Eliot’s wondering about what makes a new work of art innovative. He debates with his readers on the difference between the contemporary poets and their forerunner. The key for an innovative production is the effective expression of one’s own nature and the right dialogue of it with other natures.
