1)Explain the message hidden under the lines of the ballad Lord Randall . What does the ballad want to  teach ?

The ballad Lord Randall convey the message of the danger of women in the Middle Ages and warn people to keep distance from them. Women were considered dangerous and were frequent compared to witches.

The main character of this ballad , Lord Randall , is the victim of a spell and dies while he return to his home.

This ballad explains social classes of the Middle Ages and roles of men and women.

2)What is the quest undertaken by a Knight ?

Knights in the Middle Ages were important figures . Knights should be loyal to their lords, to God and to their ladies. Knights should believe all that the Church teaches, observe all its directions and defend the Church. They should make war against the Infidel without cessation, and without mercy.

3)What is courtly love ?

Courtly love was a medieval European conception of nobly and chivalrously expressing love and admiration. Generally, courtly love was secret and between members of the nobility. It was also generally not practiced between husband and wife.
