The poem opens with a title referred to a girl who lived in a place difficult to reach; so it makes the reader curious about the will that drove the girl to live in that way.

It isn't a sonnet because it consist of 11 lines and it is divided in 2 parts, one longer than the other. The first part introduces the poem argument, which is better explained in the second part.

In the first part the poet creates an exotic atmosphere painting a beautiful landscape, a nice country and a spring which are all set near Dove ( Scotland) and describes the lady as a girl loved by few people.

In the second part, which has an explanatory function, the author uses the image of a violet half hidden as a metaphor ; in that way he can reinforce the lady's characteristics . This image is immediately followed by a star description. Here the poet creates a comparison between the Lady and the star, which is the only one shining in the sky. In that way he underlines that , as the star, the girl who is talking about is a sort of reference point for him. In the following lines the author makes the reader able to understand that the girl wasn't love by lots of people because she lived in a place difficult to reach , not because of her behaviour or actions.

The poem ends with an exclamation , that suggests us that the girl enriches the poet's life with her qualities; that's why her death make a big difference for the poet ( line 11).This fact is also highlight by the use of verb " to be " , which is a perception verb.

Looking at sounds the reader can notice that there are several ejambements , which ,pushing him to read lines one after the other  without stopping and this , gives more rhythm to the poem .

Than he can notice that all the words that rimed are key words, which sum up the general meaning of the composition.

The poem lends itself to be interpreted in several ways:

•-          The poet would may talk about the rarity and the uniqueness, values which contrast with fashions and popularity; it's easy to understand that the author considers the uniqueness a positive quality that should be reached by more people

•-          The author may wanted the reader to analyse  the fact that sometimes the landscapes' beauty  influences human life

•-          It seems that the poem conveys the message that meeting interesting ad uncommon people makes the difference
