Vagabonds, Langston Hughes

We are the desperate

Who do not care.

The hungry

Who have nowhere

To eat.

No places to sleep.

The tearless

Who cannot

Weep.

The poem is full of sadness expressed at most by the words desperate, hungry, nowhere, weep.

You can see rhymes in the words care/nowhere and eat/sleep/weep that includes all the verbs of the poem (to care, to eat, to sleep, and to weep) excepted to have.

There is an ascending climax in the verbs in the intensity of the pain that culminates in the verb to weep.
