Texture analysis means to analyse the interrelationships of form and content.
Context ==> all the influences coming from the period, the time and space
Co-text ==> what goes together with the text
Architext ==> the earliest text showing that particular structure
Oral and written = level of sound and other levels.
All levels are:
- Phonological = level of sound
- Semantic = word choice; semantic domains; use of verbs: active, passive; aspect of verbs; tone of language.
- Syntactical = syntax = word order; punctuation.
- Rhetorical = the level of figures of speech ==> Metaphors, synecdoche, metonymy, hyperbole, litotes etc.
In the end the reader has to be able to explain HOW the CHOICE MADE in the previous levels MAKE UP MEANING.
